The players are not happy with the coach so its time for him to go”-Manchester United Board has revealed that they have contacted Zidane for Manchester United job after falling out of patience with Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United officials have reportedly identified a potential successor for Erik ten Hag amid growing uncertainty following the team’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. This loss marked a critical low for Ten Hag’s tenure, as Spurs clearly dominated the game at Old Trafford, heightening speculation regarding his future with the club.

In light of this setback, names like Gareth Southgate and Ruud van Nistelrooy have emerged as possible replacements for Ten Hag. However, reports indicate that the United board has already singled out a specific candidate to step in if they choose to part ways with the current manager. Prior to the season, the club’s new co-owners, INEOS, held discussions with several high-profile managers while evaluating a potential managerial change after last season’s disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League, the club’s worst performance since the league began in 1992.

Among those considered was Thomas Tuchel, the former manager of Chelsea and Bayern Munich. A report from The Daily Mail in July suggested that Tuchel was the frontrunner should Ten Hag be dismissed. While Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team initially decided to retain Ten Hag, they were impressed by Tuchel’s strategic vision for revitalizing United’s status in European football.

At that time, Tuchel was looking for a brief hiatus from coaching after a challenging period at Bayern Munich, which appeared to diminish his candidacy. However, with the current circumstances three months later, United may reconsider Tuchel as a viable option if they decide to terminate Ten Hag’s contract in the wake of the defeat against Spurs.

Despite the swirling rumors, Ten Hag remains steadfast in his role. After the match, he assured reporters that there are no discussions about a managerial change taking place within the club.

“No, I am not thinking about this. We all decided to stay united as an ownership and leadership group during the summer,” Ten Hag stated.

He added, “We are all aligned and working together—the ownership, the leadership group, the staff, and the players. I don’t have that concern.”
