“We have contacted him. We are waiting for his reply. Ofcourse he loves Manchester United and would want to take the coaching job, plus he is a fan favourite so it would be amazing if he accepts the job”-Man Utd ‘already know their top target’ to replace Erik ten Hag and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a big fan of him as he wasted no time to contact him.

Manchester United officials have allegedly identified their preferred successor to Erik ten Hag should they decide to part ways with him following the embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

The loss on Sunday marked a significant low in Ten Hag’s tenure as United’s manager, as Spurs dominated the match at Old Trafford. In the wake of this defeat, speculation surrounding the Dutchman’s future grew, with potential replacements like Gareth Southgate and Ruud van Nistelrooy emerging as candidates.

However, reports suggest that the United board has already selected a particular individual to step in if they choose to dismiss Ten Hag. Prior to the start of the season, the club’s new co-owners, INEOS, held discussions with various top managers as they contemplated a change in leadership after the team’s disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League last season—an outcome that marked the club’s poorest performance since the league’s establishment in 1992.
