During the first half, he found himself in an unexpected offensive posture and made most of use of it during a scary time. Certain in defense and quite smooth on the ball.

Diogo Dalot, number six.
Almost entirely responsible for a goal after his nonchalant response resulted in Twente nipping the ball off of him for their best early on chance of the game. Now judged on more exacting standards.

Six Manuel Ugarte
Sometimes seemed behind the game’s tempo and a little too eager to attack the ball and push high, which did not always come off. Precious minutes among fresh colleagues are a benefit.

Christian Eriksen – 7

Bruno Fernandes – 4
Losing the ball continuously made the Crystal Palace game less than ideal, and today was more of the same. His passes are bold when they come off, maddening when they don’t. For the past two games, that has been the later. summed up by his direct free-kick at the goalie with United’s last opportunity of the game.

Amad – seven
Usually looked to play forward; his two-footedness is quite helpful for the assault. Every time he is on the ball, United looks hazardous. Ten Hag continues revolving his forwards, so came off for garnacho.

Marcus Rashford: 8
Rashford is now back to his best at last. This time there was no goal, but his general level of performance differs completely; best described by a spectacular elastico in the first half, when he may have passed it backwards four games earlier. Was taken off confusingly even though they seemed most frightening.

Joshua Zirkzee, at 6.5
Though he is a hesitant striker who will never be explosive, his link-up skills improve United performance. This represented more of the same. Maybe a Hojlund-Zirkzee cooperation is just around the corner.

Reversals

Alejandro Garnacho number seven ten Hag sent him out with the “defend, defend, defend” message, but when Twente equalised he had to change practically immediately to offensive mode. Was quite intimidating and seemed to be about to do something.

Rasmus Hojlund, six.
Looks rusty as some balls sped into him pinged off of him. Not looking on the same wavelength as his colleagues, therefore needs additional minutes to get sharp once more.

Kobbie Mainoo, Six
Made some decent attacking runs, but also caught on the ball a couple times on, shockingly, his European debut for United.

Mason Mount – six
Pushed constantly, as usual, end result lacking. needs time to recover match rhythm once newest injuries return.
