Manchester United dream line-up vs Crystal Palace after huge double injury boost for Ten Hag ππ
Manchester United has received encouraging news regarding player injuries following their impressive 7-0 victory over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third round.
In a commanding performance at Old Trafford, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Christian Eriksen each netted two goals, with Antony converting a penalty to complete the rout. With a spot in the fourth round secured, manager Erik ten Hag is now focused on this weekend’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
Leading up to this important fixture, Ten Hag has been boosted by the return of two vital players, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount, who both trained at Carrington on Wednesday. Hojlund, who has been sidelined all season due to a hamstring injury, and Mount, who sustained a fitness issue after last monthβs loss to Brighton, are both potential reinforcements.
It’s still uncertain if either player will be fit enough to start or even play against Crystal Palace on Saturday. However, their availability would significantly enhance Ten Hag’s options for the match.
If Hojlund is ready to go, he could challenge Joshua Zirkzee for the starting striker role. Zirkzee, who joined from Bologna this summer, has one goal to his name and has started the last two Premier League matches.
Mount may face more competition for a starting position, especially with the addition of Manuel Ugarte, who is likely to partner Kobbie Mainoo in central midfield, while Bruno Fernandes takes on an advanced No. 10 role.
The defensive setup appears more settled, with Andre Onana in goal and full-backs Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot flanking Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez in central defense.
In the attacking lineup, Ten Hag may choose to start Amad Diallo on the right wing and Alejandro Garnacho on the left, with Marcus Rashford and Antony also available after both players found the net in the recent win against Barnsley.
