Cristiano Ronaldo tipped to make sensational Man Utd return by former teammate as Al Nassr ‘ignore’ star’s Zinedine Zidane plea
Cristiano Ronaldo is being considered for a sensational third spell at Manchester United.
The 39-year-old left the club in 2022 after a fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, leading to a highly publicized departure. Currently, Ronaldo is playing for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, where his contract runs until 2025.
A five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo has set an ambitious target of reaching 1,000 career goals before he retires. A former Manchester United teammate hinted that if the club made an offer, it could be difficult for Ronaldo to resist.
Wes Brown, in a recent interview, remarked, “Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United can never be ruled out. His second exit was disheartening for everyone, especially given his legendary status at the club. A comeback could be a way to mend the past.”
Brown further recalled Ronaldo’s impressive tally of over 20 goals during his first season back with United, adding, “His departure felt unnecessary. It would be great to see him return in some capacity.”
Ronaldo has voiced his frustration with Manchester United, particularly after their disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
In the meantime, Al-Nassr recently parted ways with their manager, Luis Castro, and Ronaldo is reportedly keen on a possible reunion with a familiar coach. There were suggestions that Ronaldo proposed the appointment of former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, but the club quickly dismissed the idea.
