Al Hilal is close to signing João Cancelo from Manchester City, according to ESPN sources.
The Portugal international has agreed to join the Saudi Pro League for an initial fee of £21 million ($28 million). Cancelo is close to settling on a deal worth approximately £15 million per year.
The 30-year-old has not played for City in 18 months, following loan stints at Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
The defender returned to Manchester for training this summer, but was left out of the team for the opening two Premier League games against Chelsea and Ipswich.
He will depart City after playing over 150 games and won the Premier League three times. He was also chosen to the PFA Premier League Team of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
Cancelo last played for City in January 2023, before a surprise loan transfer to Bayern Munich. The German club chose not to make the agreement permanent, therefore he moved on loan to Barcelona for the 2023-24 season last summer.
