Gary Neville has cautioned Chelsea outsider Raheem Sterling against joining either Arsenal or Manchester United.
Before the transfer market shuts, Chelsea’s new manager has warned the former Manchester City player several times that he is surplus to needs and would be better off choosing another team.
Although Neville thinks he would find first team prospects at both the Emirates and Old Trafford, both Arsenal and Manchester United have become candidates to sign the 29-year-old.
“I adore Raheem Sterling,” he added. “I am not entirely sure why at the moment Manchester United would regard it as a piece of business looking at their team.” Clearly, he worked very closely with him while I was there.
They have athletes they should test and maximize their potential. There are Amad, Antony, Rashford, and Garnacho among those who cover such regions.
‘If they are losing trust in one or more of those players maybe they would buy Raheem Sterling but it does not strike me at this moment in time as being a necessary acquisition for Manchester United. They have four players they must find form and start themselves.
Neville said, ” Arsenal have got Jesus, Trossard and Martinelli who can play on the left side you’ve got Saka on the other side who his so reliable and always available. Sterling might be revitalising his career at title-chasing Arsenal.”
It does not stick out and strike as making logical. Chelsea wants him gone, and given the circumstances over the past two weeks, I can see why she would be keen to get him out.
