Man United is drawn against three of the most powerful teams in Europe, according to the Europa League draw, which has been published. It is possible that we may not qualify for the tournament.

The play-off rounds for both the Europa League and Champions League are currently in progress, with teams vying for the final 36 spots in a single, expanded league table under the new competition format.

Manchester United, who have yet to claim victory in this tournament, are back after a one-year hiatus and are considered strong contenders to go far. Their prospects are further brightened by the fact that no teams will drop down from the Champions League this time, which could be advantageous if they progress to the knockout rounds.

Before reaching that stage, however, United must successfully navigate through eight group-stage matches. These will be split evenly between four home and four away games, against a mix of familiar and less-known opponents.

Manchester United will be placed in Pot 1 with the highest seeding for the Europa League draw, being the second-highest ranked team according to UEFA’s coefficient rankings.

United will be matched against teams from Pots 2, 3, and 4, avoiding other Pot 1 teams. They cannot face another English club (like Tottenham) and are limited to a maximum of two teams from the same country.

Pot 1: Roma, Porto, Rangers, Eintracht Frankfurt, Lazio

Pot 2: Olympiacos, Lyon

Pot 1 or 2: Real Sociedad, AZ Alkmaar

Pot 3 or 4: Malmo, Athletic Club, Hoffenheim, Nice, Twente, Ludogorets Razgrad or Petrocub, RFS or APOEL, Anderlecht or Dinamo Minsk, Besiktas or Lugano

Pending Pot Assignment: Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, USG, Dynamo Kyiv, Red Star Belgrade or Bodo/Glimt, Lille or Slavia Prague, Dinamo Zagreb or Qarabag, Midtjylland or Slovan Bratislava, Ajax or Jagiellonia Bialystok, LASK or FCSB, Maccabi Tel Aviv or TSC, Shamrock Rovers or PAOK, Ferencvaros or Borac Banja Luka, Molde or Elfsborg, Braga or Rapid Wien, Hearts or Viktoria Plzen.
