Manchester United have proposed a deal involving Manchester United star Jadon Sancho and €20 million in exchange for Barcelona’s star player, as Fabrizio Romano confirms that “negotiations are nearly over because FC Barcelona are ready to make the deal happen.”

Manchester United have reportedly made an offer to Barcelona involving €20 million and Jadon Sancho in exchange for Frenkie de Jong. This development was revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who noted that “negotiations are expected to continue” regarding Sancho’s future.

Sancho, who made a brief appearance as a substitute in the Community Shield loss to Manchester City, was notably absent from Manchester United’s squad for their Premier League opener against Fulham and their recent defeat to Brighton.

There are reports suggesting that Sancho requested to leave after being left out of the Fulham match.

Although discussions with Paris Saint-Germain fell through earlier in the transfer window, Juventus has now expressed interest in the England international.

Manchester United is looking to secure a permanent exit for Sancho, setting an asking price of £40 million, a figure that might be too high for Juventus. The club would only consider a loan deal if Juventus agrees to cover Sancho’s full £250,000 weekly salary, along with a loan fee and a commitment to buy him permanently—a scenario that seems unlikely.

Romano has confirmed that “negotiations are expected to continue” between United and Juventus, although Juventus recently agreed to sign Francisco Conceicao, which could complicate any move for Sancho.

According to a Spanish report, Manchester United have proposed including Sancho in a deal with Barcelona for their long-term target, De Jong. Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, is said to be “seriously evaluating” the offer, which also includes a €20 million payment.

Both Deco and new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick are reportedly intrigued by the prospect of acquiring Sancho, seeing potential in his abilities and versatility.

Despite Flick’s desire to keep De Jong, pressure from Barcelona president Joan Laporta to accept United’s offer could sway the decision, particularly as Barcelona is on the lookout for a new winger and seeks to address financial concerns.

When questioned about Sancho’s exclusion from the Brighton match, United manager Erik ten Hag emphasized that Sancho needs to work hard to regain his spot in the team, highlighting the importance of competition in every position due to the long season ahead.
