“He is the only one to blame, he couldn’t even clear the ball” – Erik Ten hag has admitted flop Player is to blame for Manchester United’s Terrible loss today against Brighton

Manchester United supporters are voicing their displeasure with one of the team’s players following a last-minute defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion. In the 95th minute of their Premier League clash, United conceded a decisive goal to Brighton forward Joao Pedro, leading to a bitter loss for the Red Devils.

This setback came just a week after United had narrowly clinched a victory in their 2024/25 Premier League season opener against Fulham.

In that match, a late goal from new signing Joshua Zirkzee secured a 1-0 win for United. However, the joy from that triumph was short-lived, as the team’s performance against Brighton left fans disappointed.

After the match, many United fans took to social media to express their frustration, particularly directing their ire at Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot. Fans largely blamed Dalot’s poor positioning during the lead-up to Brighton’s winning goal as the key factor behind the loss. Observers noted that Dalot appeared out of place, allowing Joao Pedro to remain unmarked and score easily from close range.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) criticized Dalot, stating, “This is what happens when you overhype average players like Dalot. Losing track of his position shows a lack of focus. It’s not the first time, and it won’t be the last.” Another supporter echoed this view, commenting, “Dalot at the back post AGAIN… But I have an agenda, whatever man cba.” A third fan pointed out the defensive shortcomings, saying, “I get that three people were unmarked at the back post, but Dalot lets the guy slip in 5 yards inside the box and makes no effort to block anything.”

Diogo Dalot, who made 50 appearances for Manchester United last season, scoring three goals and contributing to seven clean sheets in the Premier League, is now under heavy scrutiny.

The criticism comes at a time when United’s defensive weaknesses have been a persistent problem, and Dalot’s error against Brighton has only heightened concerns about the team’s ability to secure crucial points.

For Brighton, the victory marked their second win of the season, following a 3-0 victory over Everton in their opening match. This win temporarily propelled Brighton to the top of the Premier League table, reflecting their strong start to the campaign.

Looking ahead, Manchester United faces a tough schedule, with one of the season’s most anticipated matches looming. They will host Liverpool at Old Trafford, where Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, will face United for the first time since his appointment in June.

Meanwhile, Brighton will turn their attention to their midweek EFL Cup second-round match against Crawley Town before gearing up to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The backlash against Dalot highlights the high expectations placed on Manchester United players, especially when the team is expected to deliver results.

As the season unfolds, it remains to be seen how Dalot and the rest of the United squad will handle the pressure and whether they can recover from this early setback.
