Manchester City reach ‘full agreement’ to re-sign Legend from Barcelona with veteran midfielder making huge financial sacrifice to seal Premier League return

One year following his leaving, Gundogan will be back at the Etihad Stadium. The Athletic claims that the 33-year-old will sign a one-year contract with City with an extra 12 months option. To enable the relocation, the former Germany international would even sacrifice the two years of income he would be due by Barcelona.

Gundogan was chosen in the La Liga Team of the Season and made more than fifty games in all competitions for Barcelona last season. But a change in head coach at the Camp Nou has heralded a fresh vision, and the seasoned midfielder was informed he was not part of Hansi Flick’s plans. Reportedly, Gundogan discussed his comeback with Pep Guardiola; the City manager authorized the move.
