Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced Very Sad news for Rodri as he is set to miss Premier League opener Vs Chelsea tomorrow
For Sunday’s trip to see Chelsea, Manchester City will be missing star midfielder Rodri.
As new Blues leader Enzo Maresca meets old mentor Pep Guardiola, the Stamford Bridge encounter stands as the highlight of the Premier League season opening weekend.
However, the current champions will be without the powerful Rodri, a City player who went 74 games undefeated till losing the FA Cup Final at the conclusion of previous season.
Having been pulled out at half-time of Spain’s Euro 2024 final triumph over England and not yet back to City for training, Rodri will not be available for the opening game of the new season.
When asked about Rodri’s fitness, Guardiola said to reporters on Friday: “I assume he feels okay; I did not see him yet.
“We will have to start him training and observe his feelings upon beginning to move his body. No possibility [he looks at Chelsea].
City will also be devoid of Oscar Bobb, who suffered a broken leg and has been sidelined for “three to four months”.
