Barcelona are reportedly open to selling Frenkie de Jong for a fee of €60 million, according to recent reports from Spain.

The Dutch midfielder, who has faced speculation about his future at Camp Nou since joining in 2019, might finally be on the verge of leaving, with Barcelona seemingly ready to cash in on him this summer.

Manchester United, long-time admirers of the 27-year-old, have previously attempted to sign De Jong during the last two summer transfer windows. Now, it appears that a move could be more feasible than ever before.

As reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona has set an asking price of €60 million for De Jong, indicating their willingness to part ways with him in the current transfer window.

United, in search of a central midfielder, have encountered obstacles in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte. Despite the Uruguayan being their primary target, PSG is firm on their €60 million valuation of the player.

Due to these challenges, the Red Devils are considering alternative options. Burnley’s Sander Berge has surfaced as a potential candidate, as reported by The Transfers Podcast, while Joao Gomes and Youssouf Fofana are also under consideration.

However, the uncertainty surrounding De Jong’s future at Barcelona, coupled with the club’s revised asking price, might present United with the perfect opportunity to finally secure his signature.
