Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal for Bayern Munich’s right-back Noussair Mazraoui this summer. According to recent updates, manager Erik ten Hag is eager to finalize the transfer before the Community Shield. Mazraoui, who previously played under Ten Hag at Ajax, could replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is attracting interest from West Ham United.

Mazraoui, a three-time Eredivisie champion with Ajax, would be Manchester United’s third summer acquisition following center-back Leny Yoro and striker Joshua Zirkzee, both of whom have yet to make their debuts for the club.

**Mazraoui’s Transfer to Manchester United Almost Finalized**

Journalist Santi Aouna has reported on X (formerly Twitter) that Mazraoui’s move to Manchester United is almost complete, with a medical scheduled for Tuesday. The Moroccan international, who may also provide cover at left-back, is expected to take a private flight soon to finalize his contract, which will run until June 2029 with an option for an additional year.

Aouna stated, “It’s nearly done. Noussair Mazraoui will join Manchester United. Bayern Munich have given the green light. The Moroccan right-back will travel shortly. If all goes as planned, he will undergo a medical on Tuesday. His contract will be valid until June 2029, with an option for an extra year. Erik ten Hag is keen to have Mazraoui available for the Community Shield.”

Last season, Mazraoui made 29 appearances for Bayern Munich, totaling nearly 2,000 minutes. Despite contributing three assists in 19 Bundesliga matches, he struggled to secure a regular starting spot.

Since Erik ten Hag took over from Ralf Rangnick in 2022, he has had to choose between Diogo Dalot and the soon-to-depart Wan-Bissaka. West Ham are reportedly working on a deal for Wan-Bissaka, according to Fabrizio Romano.

**Manchester United Still Interested in De Ligt**

In addition to Mazraoui, Manchester United are also considering a move for Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt. With De Ligt falling behind Kim Min-Jae, Eric Dier, and Dayot Upamecano in the Bayern lineup, Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth indicated that United’s interest in the Dutch defender remains strong despite the signing of Yoro.

Yoro’s recent injury during a pre-season match against Arsenal has heightened the need for additional central defensive options. The 18-year-old former Lille player may be sidelined for up to three months.
