Manchester United’s new signing, Leny Yoro, will be sidelined for approximately three months due to a metatarsal fracture sustained during the 2-1 friendly defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles. The 18-year-old is not expected to return until October. Striker Rasmus Hojlund, who also suffered an injury in the same match, will be out for around six weeks following a hamstring issue he picked up in the 13th minute.

Yoroโ€™s injury occurred after a brief encounter with Gabriel Jesus, leading to his substitution in the 34th minute at SoFi Stadium. Meanwhile, Hojlund, 21, will miss several key fixtures, including the Community Shield against Manchester City, the Premier League opener against Fulham, the away game at Brighton, and the home match against Liverpool. He might be available after the September international break.

Yoro plans to remain with the squad for the remainder of their pre-season tour in the US and will be reassessed upon his return to the UK. His absence leaves Manchester United with only three senior centre-backs, and the club is contemplating selling Victor Lindelof, whose contract expires next year.

Lisandro Martinez is set to resume training next week after international duty. However, Yoro’s injury could prompt United to make a third bid for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite or consider Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, as they are open to acquiring three centre-backs this summer.

In recent transfer news, United signed striker Joshua Zirkzee for ยฃ36.5 million, who has joined pre-season training at Carrington. Yoro had just made his debut for United in a match against Rangers last week following his transfer from Lille.
