Enzo Maresca says Chelsea “need to improve many things off the ball” after Celtic beat them 4-1 in a pre-season match on Saturday night.

The Scottish champions took the lead in the first half thanks to goals from Matt O’Reily and Kyogo Furuhashi. Brendan Rodgers’ team won the game deservedly at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.

Chelsea has now lost two games in their pre-season. Earlier this week, they tied 2-2 with Wrexham in their first game.

Maresca also says that his team is still “lost” when they have the ball and when they don’t.

“As we always say, the result is important,” Maresca said after Chelsea lost.

“We need to look at the game as a whole.” While having the ball, I think the team was 10 times better than they were against Wrexham. That’s important because we created a lot of chances in both halves.
