“He has been impressive this Pre-Season has deserve a spot the first team, I will give him more playing time- Pep Guardiola may have discovered a new first team starter after two games of their pre-season tour

Around 80,000 people came to Yankee Stadium on Saturday to see a Norwegian celebrity. They got what they wanted, but it may not have been what they thought they would get.

Even though Erling Haaland scored and got the loudest cheers of the night, it was his fellow countryman Oscar Bobb who was the best on tour. With another great assist, he now has three in two games, plus the goal he scored against Celtic. As usual for Haaland even in pre-season, he has two strikes in two games. This is a bad sign for the rest of the season.

But Bobb is in charge in the US, just like he was in Asia last year. Pep Guardiola says that Manchester City doesn’t need to add any more players because of him, and he’s making a good case to be a real starter for the first team this season.

Bobb became famous last season for his sneaky ways to get out of tough spots. Now he’s telling everyone of the skills he learned in the school to beat an opponent one-on-one. Right on time, since Guardiola has talked about how good Savinho and Jeremy Doku are in that area. The crowd loved it when Bobb dropped his shoulder, found an extra yard of speed, and played the ball into Haaland’s path so he could score.

Maximo Perrone’s goal against Celtic had the same move and finish, but while Haaland got the cheers, Bobb planned it. It looked like he was going to score when he slid through the middle of the field, took a one-two, and shot for the bottom corner, but for the first time this summer, his compass was just off.

Four of City’s five pre-season goals have come from the partnership between Haaland and Bobb. The two seem to know exactly what the other is thinking. When most of Guardiola’s star forwards are still on vacation, that kind of link-up is very valuable.

Soon after, though, Guardiola was making crazy gestures at his young full-backs on the field. He was mad when Celtic scored three goals that were all the same in North Carolina, so he took Kalvin Phillips off the team. Two times, Rico Lewis and Callum Doyle couldn’t stop a cross from Samuel Chukwueze. Two times, Lorenzo Colombo got a shot off at the back post, and two times, Ederson somehow let the ball go through him. The boss wasn’t happy, even if the worker was nice.

Some reports say Ederson was upset on tour, which is why Guardiola called him back. He was unhappy because he wants his goalie to stay. He said that he “stays focused on the planning of the season,” but in the Bronx, he didn’t seem to be very focused. As captain for the night, he had already made two big stops before he made his first mistake.

His defense made it hard to deal with Colombo’s shots, but he will still be mad at himself. Ederson did get better after the break, but he still had to leave after letting in a third goal, and Scott Carson gladly took his place. Ederson stayed on for the second half to emphasize his role as No. 1.

Mikael Hamilton, who came on at halftime, set up McAtee’s first run to tie the game. Just like Bobb, he will help his chances by scoring a few goals this month. This also backs up Guardiola’s decision not to let him join another team.

Although there are a lot of Italians in New York, most of the 46,000 people who came out supported City. With covered baseball bases taking up a quarter of the field, this was a famous setting for baseball, but clearly not for football. Before the game, Pep Guardiola had a long talk with Milan manager Paolo Fonseca. He then had a shorter talk with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. On Friday, he met Andre Agassi in New York. Zlatan might have been next on his list.

Ibrahimovic used to be the main attraction in a place like Yankee Stadium. Haaland is the big name in business these days, and he looks good so far. He took a break in New York for the halfway mark.

So far in the US, though, Bobb is the one who hits the ball out of the park every time he bats.
