Manchester United have set their sights on Vanderson, the Brazilian right-back from AS Monaco, according to recent reports.

After a slow start to the summer transfer window, the Red Devils have recently accelerated their activity by securing Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. Their aim is to bolster their squad as they target a return to the Champions League next season.

In addition to Vanderson, United are negotiating with Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Manuel Ugarte and are monitoring Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The need for a right-back has emerged with speculation that Aaron Wan-Bissaka may depart the club. With Wan-Bissaka’s contract entering its final year, United are exploring alternatives.

Sky Sports reports that Vanderson is a leading candidate to replace Wan-Bissaka. The 23-year-old joined Monaco from Gremio in 2022 and delivered notable performances last season, netting three goals in 23 matches across all competitions.

Although Vanderson is contracted with Monaco until 2028, GIVEMESPORT suggests he might be available for around £30 million. His attacking capabilities could provide United with a more offensive option compared to Wan-Bissaka.

Sky Sports also mentions that Vanderson is on a shortlist that includes Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong. Additionally, United have been linked with Bayern Munich’s Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui.

To proceed with acquiring a new right-back, United must first resolve Wan-Bissaka’s situation, and they are keen to address this before the season kicks off.
