West Ham is in advanced negotiations to acquire Manchester United’s right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a move that could inadvertently facilitate a trade involving Tottenham. Wan-Bissaka, 26, is entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.

Manchester United opted to extend Wan-Bissaka’s contract until the end of the 2024/25 season earlier this year, but with that safety net now expired, the club is seeking to offload him. Despite making 30 appearances across all competitions last season, Wan-Bissaka’s playing time was largely due to injuries within the squad.

Under Erik ten Hag, Diogo Dalot has emerged as the preferred choice at right-back. Ten Hag occasionally deployed Dalot on the left due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, alternating with Wan-Bissaka.

With Manchester United clearing out their squad, Wan-Bissaka has been given permission to seek a move, and talks with West Ham are reportedly well underway. The Hammers are short of a right-back following Ben Johnson’s departure to Ipswich Town, leaving Vladimir Coufal as their only specialist in that position under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Negotiations between Manchester United and West Ham are progressing and nearing completion. While United is seeking ยฃ15 million for Wan-Bissaka, West Ham remains undeterred. Personal terms have yet to be finalized, but indications suggest Wan-Bissaka is receptive to the move, which bodes well for future negotiations.
