Napoli Star Victor Osimhen has already confirmed transfer decision as Chelsea links gather pace, He has made a statement this evening regarding his move to Chelsea

As Enzo Maresca seeks to bolster his team ahead of the new season beginning in just a few weeks, Victor Osimhen is still connected with a move to Chelsea.

For some time, Chelsea has been connected with an interest in the Napoli striker. Signed little over six months ago, his contract contains a release clause of £110 million; Napoli expects to get the whole amount should he be allowed to depart this summer.

Romelu Lukaku has been proposed as a tool Chelsea may employ to attempt to lower the price in a possible swap agreement. After first opting against acting, it has now been revealed that the Blues are now seeking to “advance” their interest in Osimhen.

But Chelsea could have competition from French behemoths Paris Saint Germain. Talks between the club and Osimhen’s camp between the player eager to join PSG if a deal can be reached are moving forward, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Osimhen could be willing to relocating to Stamford Bridge if his own earlier this year words are any guide. Speaking while on Africa Cup of Nations obligation with Nigeria back in January, the attacker told CBS Sports: “At the conclusion of the season, I think I have made up my mind.

Since I started and have been the one making decisions for myself, I already know what I want to achieve with my profession; everything is going nicely for me. Though when I first started it did not go as expected.

“But I already know what I want to accomplish and have my plan; the next action I wish to do is known. For now, I simply want to finish the season strong, go rest somewhere with my kid, and then at last make the choice I have already decided upon.

Earlier in the summer, remarks from Napoli manager Antonio Conte also imply that the team expects the player to move on this summer. “I know what the circumstances are about Osimhen,” he remarked.

“I understand that this is not like all the others; there are agreements here. I am merely able to help. He is outstanding, a player of the highest caliber, but I cannot engage in any conversation as it is covered by past agreements that I have explicitly been informed of.”
