Chelsea Football Club has released VERY SAD NEWS on Enzo Fernandez following ‘r@cis chant’ and explain exactly what is going to happen to the Argentine international
Following Enzo Fernandez’s video of himself and his Argentina teammates singing a supposedly “racist” song about the France national team, Chelsea released a statement.
After El Tri beat Colombia in the Copa America final on Sunday night, Fernandez went live on Instagram.
Over here, you could hear some Argentina players chanting a song that picks out French players with family ties in several African countries and a French visa.
“They play for France, but their parents are from Angola” was what the song said. Their dad is from Nigeria and their mom is from Cameroon. However, their ID says they are French.
On Tuesday afternoon, the France Football Federation said in a statement that president Philippe Diallo “strongly rejects the offensive and biased comments made about the French team’s players.”
The FFF also said they would report to FIFA about the “racially offensive and discriminatory comments.”
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Fernandez made his own message. He started for Argentina in their 1-0 win over Colombia.
“I want to deeply apologize for a video I shared on my Instagram account during the celebrations for the national team,” he wrote.
“The song uses extremely rude language, and there is no reason for these words at all.” When I was celebrating the Copa America, I forgot to say that I am against all kinds of discrimination. I’m sorry about that.
“That movie, that time, and those words don’t show what I believe or who I am.” I’m really sorry.”
Since then, Chelsea has explained why they have decided to start an internal punishment process after what happened.
