‘Thanks for your support’: Chelsea Star and Spain International Marc Cucurella COOKS Gary Neville after Euro win for Calling him

Marc Cucurella and his fiancée Claudia Rodriguez fired out at Gary Neville after Spain defeated England in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday night.

Cucurella, meanwhile, was one of Spain’s surprise stars of the tournament, with many questioning whether the Chelsea defender would even make Luis de la Fuente’s side.

Neville, on the other hand, saw Cucurella as Spain’s weak link prior to their opening group game, which resulted in an outstanding 3-0 triumph over Croatia.

‘We didn’t expect him to play,’ Neville said ITV on June 15.

‘He hasn’t been convincing at Chelsea, but he has played a few games towards the end of the season. He’s aggressive, tough, and a busy little full-back.

‘To be fair, that price tag continues to shock everyone, I believe, even now.

‘The Spanish defence has a lot of experience now, but there’s something lacking from Spain that makes you believe they’ll go all the way.

‘And I have to say, him [Cucurella] playing left-back is maybe another illustration of why we believe so.’

However, following Spain’s triumph against Southgate’s team, Neville’s remarks came back to haunt him, with both Cucurella and Rodriguez targeting the former Manchester United and England defender.

Rodriguez captioned a photo on Instagram showing Cucurella rejoicing with the trophy, ‘How was your night, @gneville2?’

Cucurella, meanwhile, tweeted a portion of Neville’s criticism and uploaded a photo of himself rejoicing with the message: ‘We went all the way, Gary. Thank you for your support.

After Spain’s victory in the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Cucurella told TVE: “Nobody gave us a chance.”

‘We basically stayed quiet and eventually won the Euros.

‘We demonstrated that we know how to play and how to endure. We struggled as a family. We arrived as a bunch of players. Now we’re a family.
