Manchester United’s injury troubles, which plagued them last season, seem to be continuing.

One of Erik ten Hag’s staff members reportedly arrived for pre-season on crutches.

Before the new season has even started, Manchester United is already facing injury issues.

Last season, the Red Devils were significantly affected by injuries, with key players like Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, and Luke Shaw sidelined for extended periods.

Erik ten Hag’s squad ended the season in ninth place, their lowest Premier League finish ever, but they redeemed themselves by winning the FA Cup.

Pre-season preparations are now underway, with some players returning on Monday.

However, assistant coach Steve McClaren was seen arriving at Carrington on crutches after having foot surgery, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

In addition, Mitchell van der Gaag, another assistant coach, has reportedly left United amid a coaching staff overhaul.

Van der Gaag had been Ten Hag’s right-hand man since joining him from Ajax in 2022. But with the new co-owners INEOS taking over football operations at Old Trafford, changes are being made.

It is expected that legendary striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and former Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake will join Ten Hag’s coaching team. They were spotted at Carrington on Monday for the first day of pre-season.
