Former Manchester United Star Player Paul Scholes will start training with former team this week ahead of stunning football return!

Former Manchester United player Paul Scholes will comeback to Old Trafford in September for the team’s Legends game against Celtic.

Along with old colleague Nicky Butt, the former England international was among the first two names Bryan Robson’s Man United squad released for the game, therefore benefiting the Manchester United Foundation.

Scholes and Butt were members of the United ’99 Legends team that visited Bayern Munich’s Legends team back in 2019 in an attempt to collect money for the Manchester United Foundation and mark the 20th anniversary of their treble-winning Champions League final victory over the Bundesliga team.

As United smashed 5-0, Butt scored the third goal of the game; David Beckham, Louis Saha, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Dwight Yorke added the other goals during Sir Alex Ferguson’s most recent Old Trafford bench attendance.

More names will be announced in the run-up to the Saturday, September 7 Red Devils XI game against Paul Lambert’s Celtic XI at Old Trafford.

The two teams have had a strong connection for many years even though they have only squared off against one another four times in competitive play—two of those matches took place in the Champions League, United won two and Celtic winning one. Their most recent gathering drew a 1-1 tie in 2008.

Nevertheless, some well-known players from both teams—including Roy Keane and Bryan McClair—as well as non-club members Ryan Giggs and Robson chose them for their testimonial games.

Robson, who will have United triple winner Andy Cole as his assistant, said in a few months’ worth of enthusiasm for the next game: “We’re incredibly excited for this latest meeting and are hoping to see the United and Celtic supporters out in force.” They will be helping the Foundation and its amazing work and having a great afternoon at Old Trafford.
