According to Fabrizio Romano, the negotiations were fruitful, and Guiu successfully passed his medical at Stamford Bridge, with an official announcement anticipated soon. Guiu is reported to have signed a six-year contract with Chelsea, lasting until June 30, 2030.

Once confirmed, the Spaniard will become Chelsea’s second acquisition of the summer, following Tosin Adarabioyo’s free transfer from Fulham. Guiu, a product of Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy, had a standout season with the Catalan club last year.

After being listed on the bench against Granada in October, Guiu made his senior debut the following week, coming on as a substitute in the final stages of a match against Athletic Bilbao. With the score at 0-0, Guiu scored the winning goal just 33 seconds after entering the game, making him the youngest player to score on his debut for Barcelona in LaLiga this century at 17 years and 291 days.

Guiu went on to make a total of eight appearances in all competitions for Barcelona’s first team last season, including scoring in a Champions League group stage match against Royal Antwerp in December.
