Manchester City Star Jack Grealish has finally spoken out after being dropped by Gareth Southgate
Jack Grealish, Manchester City’s standout player, is putting his England rejection behind him as the Premier League season begins.
Grealish was left out of Gareth Southgate’s final 23-man Euro 2024 team following a disappointing season with his club.
The in-form Anthony Gordon and Cole Palmer were picked ahead of him, and while he will be unhappy to miss out, it has allowed him to concentrate on preparation for the upcoming season with City.
Despite the fact that pre-season has not yet begun, videos uploaded on social media show the 28-year-old actively training.
According to The Mirror, Grealish has informed City that he will return to training many days before manager Pep Guardiola’s scheduled return date.
Several injuries last season limited Grealish’s chances of getting selected, with Guardiola frequently opting to play Belgian Jeremy Doku on the left wing instead.
City’s pre-season tour begins next month, and it will be an excellent opportunity for the Englishman to impress ahead of their first competitive encounter in the Community Shield against rivals Manchester United.
The desire to put in extra effort demonstrates that he isn’t upset with Southgate’s choice.
It would be surprising if Grealish did not make his way back into the international squad at some point, but for the time being, his concentration is on returning to the pitch for his club.

The Three Lions haven’t had the smoothest start to Euro 2024, with a tense victory against Serbia followed by a 1-1 draw with Denmark.
Many supporters feel Grealish should have been selected and that having him in the team would alleviate some of England’s current difficulties.
He remains City’s record signing, having arrived for £100 million in 2021, and will undoubtedly play an important role in their future success.
