Arsenal finally confirms first signing. ‘Agreed’ – Chelsea beats Newcastle United to second summer signing after Tosin Adarabioyo This announcement have gotten the fans celebrating to this deal. Deal will be made official once transfer window opens.

Chelsea are on the brink of finalizing their second transfer of the summer, outpacing Newcastle United in the process. Michael Olise, a forward from Crystal Palace, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Chelsea. The 22-year-old had an impressive season, scoring 10 goals in 19 Premier League matches for Palace in the 2023-24 season. This performance drew the attention of several top clubs, including Manchester United, Newcastle United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has indicated that Newcastle were unable to meet the £60 million valuation for Olise. Although Olise had initially agreed to join Chelsea last summer, the transfer did not go through. Now, he has once again verbally agreed to terms with Chelsea. Discussions are ongoing between Chelsea and Palace regarding the payment schedule for Olise’s release clause, which is reported to be over £60 million.

Olise’s journey included seven years in Chelsea’s academy before moving to Manchester City and then Reading, eventually joining Palace in 2021. While Manchester United continues to show interest in Olise, they might find some comfort in the fact that Chelsea previously failed to secure him.

Newcastle United, despite likely missing out on Olise, remain in the market for a right winger this summer. They have shown interest in Jarrod Bowen from West Ham United, although his price might also be prohibitive. Additionally, Newcastle are considering 19-year-old Yankuba Minteh, who had an impressive loan spell at Feyenoord, scoring 11 goals. Minteh is valued at £40 million by Newcastle, who are now deliberating over his potential acquisition.
