Emi Martinez pours champagne over Unai Emery’s head as soon as Aston Villa secure Champions League football

Tottenham’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City meant that Aston Villa would play in the Champions League, and their celebrations were amazing.

City seemed to be the center of attention during the Spurs game. If they won, they would move two points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table with one game to play.

On the other hand, Villa were watching and knew that if Spurs lost, they would be in the Champions League next season.

As a team, Villa has won the European Cup twice, in 1981 and 1982. However, they haven’t been able to qualify for the league since then.

After Villa’s 3–3 draw with Liverpool on Monday, manager Unai Emery said that his team had to keep their attention on their last-day game in case their Champions League race went all the way to the last day.

But the Spaniard, his players, and his coaching staff watched the Spurs game in a function room at their yearly awards dinner. When the result was announced, there were wild cheers.

Martinez, one of the most interesting people in the Premier League, quickly took center stage by pouring champagne all over his boss.

Lucas Digne screamed “Another one!” into the camera, and other players started to dance on the table as the club’s accomplishment became more real.

Emery was up for the Premier League’s Manager of the Season award earlier this month, and it’s unlikely that many fans would complain if the Spaniard won the coveted award at the end of the season.

Villa’s season ends on Sunday with a trip away to Crystal Palace, who are in good form. The Villa fans will want to end the season on a high note, but they can rest easy knowing that even a loss would not ruin their chances of making the Champions League.
