ROBBERY OF THE YEAR. Clear Penalty For Manchester United after Crazy Thomas Partey Tackle, and the Referee Says No! 😱😱

Manchester United winger Amad was denied a penalty against Arsenal because he initiated the contact with Thomas Partey.

United were looking bright against the Gunners but went behind on 20 minutes as Leandro Trossard easily turned home Kai Havertz’s cross in front of the Stretford End. In a bid to get back on level terms, the 21-year-old cut in from the right-hand side before going to ground.

It appeared on first viewing that the challenge from Partey came inside the penalty area but a replay suggested it was perhaps a lot tighter. The referee Paul Tierney decided not to award a spot kick and this decision was backed by VAR.

However, Gary Neville argued that the call was less clear-cut. “The only question is that Partey was on the floor,” he explained.

“He just sticks his right leg out. Just watch Parety’s right leg there. Mmm. Just watch it there. Oooh. Does he get the ball? Not sure. Probably enough in it.”

But Dean was adamant, concluding: “I don’t think there is enough in it. Amad has actually stood on his foot, I know his foot is out there.

“I don’t think it’s a penalty kick. The correct decision by Paul and backed up by the VAR, John Brooks.”
