Following the comeback victory over Nottingham Forest, Mauricio Pochettino has been asked to replace Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

Mykhailo Mudryk’s early opening at the City Ground was followed by goals from Willy Boly and former Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi, sending the Blues into a depressing loss.

But Pochettino’s team edged the five-goal thriller and, with two games left, drew level with Newcastle United, who are in sixth position.

Two minutes after Raheem Sterling equalised, Jackson scored the game-winning goal against Forest by heading home an enticing cross from returning Chelsea captain Reece James.

Even yet, former England winger Chris Waddle said Jackson did not play well at the City Ground and that Chelsea ought to be looking for a new striker this summer.

Jackson has 14 goals this season in 33 Premier League games, jumping into the away end to celebrate with the away supporters.

Following the thrilling Premier League match, Waddle commented on BBC Radio 5 Live, “Chelsea have got ability and some very excellent players. Next season, you can assemble a lot of players, but they most certainly need a goal scorer.

Meanwhile, after his Chelsea team defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2, all but securing their Premier League survival, Pochettino was praising his team profusely.

The finest thing, according to Pochettino, is that we always think that football is about battling to the very end.

Our turnaround has thrilled me since the bench players had a significant influence. The club needed to wrap off the season strongly in order to have a great start to the new one.
