French World Cup winner and PSG Star Kylian Mbappe has confirmed he will be leaving PSG this Summer and joining this shocking European Champions.

In front of a possible move to Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe has formally declared that he will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe’s contract is up in the summer, thus speculation over his future has been rampant for some time.

Before Mbappe went to X a few days after Paris Saint-Germain lost to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-final, there had been no official word on the subject.

After seven years, he confirmed in an emotional farewell statement that he will be taking on a new challenge.

According to Fabrizio Romano, everything has been decided upon since February, therefore that battle is scheduled to take place in the Spanish capital with Real.

His move to the Santiago Bernabeu may turn out to be the priciest free transfer in history.

Though certain specifics have need to be worked out, Sky Sports report that Mbappe would accept a wage reduction at Real. He is reportedly paid a whooping £171 million a year at PSG.

Real Madrid will essentially be giving the player the money that they would have paid as a transfer fee, according to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports.

“He will be earning a hefty signing-on fee – there are suggestions in Spain that it may be above £100m.”

Mbappe will bid PSG supporters a tearful farewell on Sunday when he makes his last appearance at the Parc des Princes.

“It’s a lot of emotions, many years where I had the privilege and the great honour to be a member of the largest French club, one of the finest in the world,” he added in his statement.

“Being around some of the greatest players in history and champions allowed me to come here, experience my first very competitive club, and of course, develop as a player.

I never imagined that announcing it would be this challenging, so it’s tough. Still, I believe that after seven years, I needed this fresh challenge.”
