“He was the cause of Manchester United loose yesterday against 12 placed Crystal Palace, he couldn’t even scored an open net and has less touches than the goal keeper, Erig Ten hag needs to get rid of him
When both players are ready, Jamie Carragher wants to know how Manchester United will put Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount on the same team.
Despite Fernandes missing his first game for the Reds because of an injury, Mount started United’s 4-0 loss at Crystal Palace on Monday night.
It will be interesting to see how Erik ten Hag lines up his middle when both players come back, since he hasn’t been able to start them so far. At the beginning of the season, both players were on the same team, but Carragher has questioned whether that was the best way to go about things.
“Because Mason Mount is the type of player you play in a 4-3-3. He’s not a winger and doesn’t have a lot of speed, but he will work back, press, and score to help you win.”
“But Bruno is not a 4-3-3 player; he’s a number ten,” Carragher went on. “He doesn’t seem to be fit enough to play,” Mount can help because he plays the tenth position. Since Bruno isn’t playing, you don’t have two guys who are fast forward.
“As we’ve said before, United sometimes leave holes in the middle of the field, no matter who plays there, because I think that’s what the boss wants.”
“But for Mount to move forward, Bruno has to play; he’s their best player.” I’m still not sure where both players will play on the same team when next season starts.
Ten Hag might not have to deal with this issue for much longer, since Fernandes recently said he didn’t see his future in football. After hearing what the player said, United’s manager said he thinks the club captain will stay at Old Trafford.
He told them, “I know he’s from Manchester United, and I think he’s very happy to be here.”
