Officially, Victor Osimhen Has Stated That He Will Be Joining Chelsea this January on one Condition.
Chelsea has long had Victor Osimhen as their top goal, and they have made acquiring a prolific striker one of their summer goals, as we have regularly reported.
The Napoli player helped his side win their first league championship since 1991 by scoring an amazing 26 goals in 32 Serie A games the previous season. This season he has carried on that trend, scoring 14 goals in 22 league games.
Some of the biggest clubs in Europe are paying attention to this. Thought to be competing with Chelsea for Osimhen’s signing is Paris Saint-Germain.
With a release clause in his contract that Napoli are requesting in full, he won’t be an inexpensive addition, though.
Chelsea will probably have to offload a number of players before they can approve any more expensive acquisitions, which is an issue.
The board of the Blues is searching for buyers for homegrown players like Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja, while Tottenham target Conor Gallagher may also leave Stamford Bridge.
Osimhen still costs a lot of money, though, and a recent rumor indicates Chelsea is trying to negotiate a lower price.
Osimhen will receive two players and money from Chelsea
Italian writer Gianluca Di Marzio claims Chelsea has given Osimhen money, one “unnamed young player,” and Romelu Lukaku, who is now flourishing on loan with Roma.
The Blues have now “initiated contact” with Napoli and have told them they would be prepared to trade the two players for the Nigerian international along with €80-90 million.
Though their reaction to Chelsea’s “offer” is yet unknown, Napoli will probably hold off until PSG, Osimhen’s second bidder, makes a formal offer.
After idolising the great African striker Didier Drogba while he was at Stamford Bridge, sources have told TEAMtalk that Osimhen “loves” Chelsea.
We know that Chelsea is prepared to unload a number of players in order to get Osimhen this summer.
It is unknown if Napoli would take Lukaku, a “unnamed young talent,” and €90 million (around £77.3 million) in exchange for Osimhen.
Di Marzio does point out, meanwhile, that Giovanni Manna, the possible sports director of the Italian team, is a major Lukaku admirer and would be thrilled to welcome him to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
