“This is what really happened. The issue began with Erik ten Hag. I informed him about what was happening, but he didn’t listen. Now, I am on the verge of losing my career. I am uncertain if I will ever play football again because of him.” – Manchester United’s long-term absentee speaks out for the first time, revealing the club’s and Erik ten Hag’s actions towards him.

The likelihood of Tyrell Malacia making an appearance for Manchester United this season remains slim, as he has been sidelined with an injury since the final day of the 2022/2023 Premier League season.

The absence of the left-back has presented considerable hurdles throughout the current campaign, especially given Luke Shaw’s ongoing injury issues.

As a result, Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and occasionally Sofyan Amrabat have had to step in on the left flank, departing from their usual positions.

Malacia, aged 24, was Erik ten Hag’s inaugural signing at Old Trafford. While he made sporadic appearances in his debut season, he provided valuable depth to the squad.

Unfortunately, Malacia’s recovery has been prolonged due to the necessity of undergoing two separate surgeries to address damaged cartilage meniscus in his knee, as reported by Mail Sport. Despite this setback, Malacia has been diligently undergoing rehabilitation at Carrington with the aim of returning for the start of the 2024/2025 campaign.

Additionally, Mail has refuted speculations regarding the defender’s mental health struggles alongside his physical injury, deeming them inaccurate. However, the prolonged absence undoubtedly presents its own set of psychological challenges for Malacia.
