“I have to finally tell the club the truth. It was a very big issue that nobody knows about. The problem keep on killing all the big players that comes to play here just like me. This is what they need to do to get back to their feet again, if not they will remain like this for years just like Arsenal”-Ex-Man United Keeper David De Gea exposes Manchester United biggest problem at Old Trafford as he told them what to do to get the club back to the top.
Former Manchester United academy graduate, Ondrej Mastny, is determined to silence doubters from his time at Old Trafford.
Arriving from FC Vysocina Jihlava in 2018 at just 16 years old, Mastny faced initial challenges as a goalkeeper for the U18s. Hindered by injuries in his first season and disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in the second, his journey was far from smooth.
Despite setbacks, Mastny found his stride in his third season, becoming a regular player for both the U18s and U21s across various competitions.
Reflecting on his stint in England, Mastny confessed to feeling disheartened during periods of inactivity but rediscovered his drive upon returning home to Jihlava in 2023.
While adapting to a new country and language presented its own hurdles, Mastny cherished the support and mentorship he received from senior players like David de Gea during first-team sessions.
Yet, the lack of playing time compelled Mastny to make the tough call to return to Vysočina Jihlava.
Although departing from Manchester United wasn’t easy, Mastny prioritized consistent game time and finds contentment in his current situation, channeling his focus towards showcasing his talents on the field.
