Enzo Fernandez confesses that the start of his Chelsea career “wasn’t easy,” but he is certain that next season will be more profitable for him and the team.

The 23-year-old had recently played a key role in Argentina’s World Cup victory and left Qatar as the tournament’s best young player.

Despite his club and international success before joining Chelsea, Fernandez had a rough first few months in the Premier League and confesses it was difficult adjusting to his new environment.

He claims he is now “more comfortable” and enjoying his football again, albeit he is “a little frustrated” by Chelsea’s performances in the 2023-24 season.

Chelsea were supposed to compete for a Champions League spot after spending more than £1 billion on new arrivals, but they have instead spent the majority of the season in mid-table.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team stunned Manchester United with two injury-time goals on Thursday night, but the victory only moved them up to 10th in the Premier League, 27 points behind leaders Liverpool.
