Manchester United star faces two-match suspension risk ahead of huge Liverpool clash after what he did against Brentford 💔

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United’s captain, could face a two-game suspension ahead of the Liverpool fixture.

The midfielder is only two yellow cards away from a two-match suspension. He’s already gotten eight yellow cards this season. If a player receives ten yellow cards in their club’s first 32 Premier League matches, they are automatically suspended for two games. Fernandes has already served one ban this season after receiving five yellow cards.

This meant he missed the 0-0 draw against Liverpool on December 17. He could now miss league games against Bournemouth and Sheffield United if he collects a yellow card against Chelsea on Thursday and Liverpool on Sunday.

If he does not receive his tenth yellow card before the Bournemouth game, the Liverpool game will be his last chance to avoid suspension. Fernandes, who played as a centre-back in United’s thrilling FA Cup victory against Liverpool before the international break, has only been booked once in his last nine Premier League appearances.

This occurred during the recent game versus Fulham. He is the United player with the most bookings this season. Fernandes is one of many players in the league who are on the verge of suspension. But Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea and Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United are much closer to suspension. They both have nine yellow cards.

Chelsea still has four games to play before reaching their first 32 games of the season, which is when the cut-off point occurs.
