“I assisted most of his goals at Atlanta. We know how to link up like Kevin De Bruyen and Erling Haaland and he wanted me to come to Old Trafford. I can’t play for Atlanta again”-Serie A star hints that he wants Manchester United move this summer to re-join teammate “Rasmus Højlund”.

Atalanta’s midfield maestro, Teun Koopmeiners, has expressed his keen desire to make a move to a top Premier League club this summer, signaling a potential shift in his career trajectory. Despite his stellar performance of 10 goals and 3 assists in 25 Serie A appearances this season, Atalanta’s failure to secure a Champions League spot has fueled Koopmeiners’ ambition for a new challenge.

Having previously played alongside current Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund, Koopmeiners is no stranger to the Premier League giants, with United reportedly monitoring his performances closely. Despite interest from other clubs like Napoli in the past, Koopmeiners has made it clear that he is ready to depart Atalanta this summer, provided an enticing offer presents itself.

Reflecting on his future plans, Koopmeiners revealed, “Last year, there was concrete interest from Napoli. However, in the end, the two clubs did not find an agreement. I told Atalanta that this summer, I want to move. But something really compelling must come up to lure me away from Bergamo.”

While he acknowledges his contentment in Italy with his fiancée, Koopmeiners is open to the idea of embracing the challenges of English football. He emphasized, “My fiancée and I are enjoying our time in Italy, but for certain clubs in England, I could even endure the rainy days there. I hope opportunities arise for me to consider. I hope Atalanta receives a fair fee for me because I have cherished my time in Bergamo.”

Although Koopmeiners admits to being aware of interest from clubs like Juventus and various Premier League outfits, his focus remains on exploring all potential avenues for his next career move. A potential switch to Manchester United would further reinforce the club’s emphasis on Serie A talent under Erik ten Hag’s management, with Koopmeiners potentially joining the ranks alongside Onana, Hojlund, and Sofyan Amrabat.
