“This is cruel, inhumane and barbaric. How was he not given a red Card for this 😱😱A huge, huge moment in the title race. Doku is a lucky man! 🤯

Fans of both Liverpool and Manchester City couldn’t believe the bizarre call that was made at the end of their Premier League match.

On Sunday, Liverpool and City played to a thrilling 1-1 draw at Anfield. This result has made the Premier League title race very close.

City took the lead in the first half thanks to a well-executed corner routine. John Stones scored at the near post after Nathan Ake stopped Alexis Mac Allister to make room.

Reds were much better in the second half, and Jurgen Klopp’s team tied the game in just five minutes.

Ake’s back pass caught City custodian Ederson off guard, and as both of them went for the ball, Ederson tripped Darwin Nunez. Mac Allister then scored the penalty.

Liverpool controlled the rest of the game and had a few half-chances that they missed. When City replacement Jeremy Doku hit the post, they almost stole the win.

City looked shaky in the second half, as shown by Kevin De Bruyne’s angry response when Pep Guardiola took him off.

But things could have been a lot worse because Liverpool thought they should have been given another penalty late in the game.

In the 99th minute, Doku hit Mac Allister in the ribs with a high foot while he was trying to clear the ball.

When Michael Oliver put his finger to his ear, it looked like he was going to call a penalty, but after a quick VAR check, the game went on.

It’s not often that City and Liverpool fans agree on something, but neither could believe that Doku wasn’t sent off in this case.

“That’s a stonewall penalty from Doku on Mac Allister, shocking, shocking, shocking call,” one Liverpool fan yelled, and another wrote on X: “Doku literally karate kicked Mac Allister in the chest in the 98th minute and it wasn’t given as a penalty??”

“Doku’s been saved there because it wasn’t given on the pitch,” said one City fan. One of those that doesn’t get thrown out if he gives it.”

“What was going through Doku’s mind there?” asked a confused fan.

Because of the tie, Arsenal stays on top of the table, tied with Liverpool on 64 points and just ahead of City on 63.
