“Both the fans and Erik ten Hag loves him so much and wants him to play at old so we sent a scout to go and scout him to see how good he is because we wouldn’t want to sign anyhow players”-Manchester United scouts in attendance to watch 22-year-old Serie A striker “He left Bayern because of Harry Kane but now he has more goals than Harry Kane”🥶🔥

Manchester United is reportedly keeping a close eye on Bologna and Dutch forward Joshua Zirkee, who has been having a stellar season in Serie A. Zirkee’s impressive performances have attracted interest from top clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, both seeking reinforcements in the striker position.

Manchester United’s striker situation has been challenging this season due to a lack of depth, with only two natural strikers available: Anthony Martial and Rasmus Hojlund. Martial has been plagued by injuries and inconsistency, while Hojlund’s progress was halted by an injury just as he was finding form.

Although United has been linked with high-profile strikers like Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, financial limitations and concerns about disrupting Hojlund’s development may hinder those moves. Joshua Zirkee emerges as a more financially feasible and practical option. His potential role would likely involve rotation, providing healthy competition that could push Hojlund to improve.

Zirkee initially faced difficulties upon joining Bologna last year but has since thrived, particularly this season as the team vies for a Champions League spot. He has made significant contributions with 11 goals and 6 assists in all competitions, with ten of those goals in the league.

Manchester United scouts reportedly watched Zirkee in action as he scored a penalty in Bologna’s crucial 2-1 win over Atalanta. Despite being under contract with Bologna until 2026, the club values him at over 60 million euros. Additionally, Bayern Munich, his former club, has a 40 million euro buy-back clause, indicating their potential interest in re-signing him in the future.
