Mason Greenwood has changed his nationality to play for one of the biggest international teams. What a comeback! 😱

Greenwood, despite having only represented England once against Iceland in September 2020, is currently on loan at Getafe and is unlikely to be selected by Gareth Southgate for the Euro 2024 tournament in June.

After the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges against him in February 2023, including attempted rape and assault, Greenwood, 22, decided to continue his career at Getafe instead of Manchester United.

There have been reports suggesting that the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF) would welcome Greenwood’s decision to play for Jamaica, given his eligibility through his father. Manager Hallgrimsson mentioned Greenwood’s potential inclusion in the Jamaican team during a CONCACAF Nations League preview event, expressing his desire to have him on the team but noting that the final decision rests with Greenwood.

During his time at Getafe since September, Greenwood has made a notable impact with five assists and seven goals, fueling speculation of a potential transfer to Barcelona in the summer. United’s new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has indicated that Greenwood’s future with the team will be evaluated at the end of the season.
