Manchester City are still afraid of facing Europe’s top clubs in the Champions League, according to Pep Guardiola.

We respect them all, but we’re also terrified. “I’m not sure if they are, but we are,” Guardiola remarked.
He did agree that City’s European record demonstrates how well-prepared they are for another quarter-final. Last season, they annihilated Bayern over two legs before defeating Real in the semi-finals.
“I say to the players, maybe it’s not enough for you,” he said. “For me, the group stage is always difficult. People say it’s only Copenhagen; fine. I give plenty of credit. It appears that aggregate 6-2 is simple. It is not.
“In the end, Madrid had to go through against Leipzig. We play Leipzig, and everyone claims it’s easy. It isn’t easy; everything is challenging. People take [our form] for granted, which is fine because our standards are there. But we know the managers and players. This is the impression I want to get from my hierarchy, my club, that everything is complicated. Not because you are there. Still in all competitions, incredibly good.
“You need time, and they provided me some. We are now in a process where we can surely lose. But we can compete wherever because we’ve been to the final, semi-final, and final, and now we’re in the quarterfinals. That reflects our consistency in Europe.
