SACKED LETTER: Eric Ten Hag and Andre ONANA issued a letter of dismissal immediately after the match against Manchester City yesterday, as the new manager is scheduled to be introduced the following day.

City came back from being down to beat United 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium thanks to two goals from Phil Foden in the second half.

Erik ten Hag’s team seemingly took the lead in the Manchester derby thanks to a thunderous long shot from Marcus Rashford. However, United kept the lead until halftime thanks to an embarrassing miss from Erling Haaland from much closer range. They tried, but they couldn’t hold on.

Before putting City ahead with a low finish, Foden scored a great goal of his own. In extra time, Haaland finally scored to make the score represent how dominant his team really was. This ended United’s streak of 143 Premier League games without losing when they were ahead at halftime.

Ten Hag could talk about a plan that worked for almost an hour and some close calls that went against his team, but City deserved to win. The win makes it 19 games without a loss for Pep Guardiola’s team, bringing them back within one point of leaders Liverpool. They play Liverpool next Sunday, live on Sky Sports at 3:45pm.
