Former Real Madrid Boss Zinedine Zidane has explained Manchester United stance amid Erik ten Hag pressure.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of Manchester United, is said to have named Zinedine Zidane as a possible target if the club decides to let Erik ten Hag go.
Since Ratcliffe and INEOS bought a 27.7 percent stake in the club, big changes have already begun to be made at Old Trafford. It’s still not clear what will happen with Ten Hag at the club, and since Saturday’s 2-1 loss at home to Fulham, rumours of him being fired have grown.
In the summer, Ten Hag will be in the last year of his deal at Old Trafford. It is still not clear if he will stay at the club for a third season. Ratcliffe isn’t sure if he wants to keep Ten Hag at Old Trafford after a disappointing season, according to MEN Sport.
As of now, Liverpool is sixth in the Premier League. They also lost early in the Champions League and the Carabao Cup. Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, is said to be one of the possible replacements United is considering.
Foot Mercato says that the “dream” is to get Zidane to join the club. The player who used to play for France quit Real Madrid in 2021 and has been linked with every big club in Europe since then. Jean-Claude Blanc, the present CEO of Ineos, is said to be a big fan of Zidane and has tried to bring him to Paris Saint-Germain in the past.
Zidane has been tipped to become the new head coach at Old Trafford more than once. Before Ralf Rangnick was hired on a short-term basis in 2021, the 51-year-old was highly linked to the job of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He was also thought about in 2019.
Later, Zidane said that he wouldn’t be able to move to the Premier League because he couldn’t speak English well.
He asked, “Would I want to go to Manchester [United]? ” in the summer of 2022. I know how to use English, but I’m not a native speaker. Coaches go to clubs even though they don’t speak the language, but I work in a different way.
“To win, a lot of things must work together; it’s a global situation.” I understand what I need to do to win.
