How was Felipe not sent off for Choking Manchester United Captain Bruno Fernandez 😡😡💔, this was same thing that got Casemiro banned

Felipe, a defender for Nottingham Forest, escaped what appeared to be a likely red card on Wednesday night during his team’s FA Cup loss to Manchester United. Late in the game, the defender got into a heated argument with Man United player Bruno Fernandes and grabbed him by the throat. Shortly after, VAR examined the incident; nevertheless, Felipe was not given his marching orders, even though the officials saw and documented the event on camera.

A spot in the FA Cup quarterfinals was up for grabs when the two clubs faced off in the fifth round. Although neither team really had the upper hand in this closely contested match, Erik ten Hag’s team advanced after Casemiro won with a late header. The Brazilian midfielder received the assist from Fernandes, who sent a free kick into the Forest area for him to score. Felipe committed the foul just moments after the late score that stunned Forest.

Fernandes and Felipe got into a furious argument not long after United seized the lead in the game. The reason for the first altercation remains unknown, but footage shows the Forest defender putting his hand around the Portuguese player’s throat. After the VAR examined the event, Fernandes appeared perplexed as he described what had happened and gestured to teammate Alejandro Garnacho as though he had been strangled.

Given how obviously the incident was caught on camera, it’s puzzling that Felipe escaped punishment. Wednesday’s top scorer, Casemiro, found himself in a similar predicament the previous season when he grabbed Will Hughes of Crystal Palace by the throat. As a result, he was given a three-match ban. Despite struggling with an injury during the build-up, Fernandes was a doubt going into the game, but he was able to play the entire ninety minutes. Ten Hag feels that because of his health, Forest singled him out during the match.

Looking irritated for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes
Ten Hag disclosed that Fernandes has been battling with a “very serious” injury lately, despite playing the entire ninety minutes on Wednesday night. He accused the Forest team of realising this and going after him as a result.

“You saw Forest was targetting him, I’m not going to say what he has but it’s a serious injury and seeing how serious it was, they criticise him on social media and it’s pathetic and can’t be.”

According to Goal, Ten Hag continued, saying, “He battled to be a part of this game despite having a bad injury. He will play on Saturday [against Fulham]. He has a high pain threshold; in the previous season, he demonstrated this at the Spurs and in the semifinals. This demonstrates his leadership, which is beneficial to the club as a whole.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: In 21 games this season, referee Chris Kavanagh has issued 83 yellow cards and just one red card.

Fernandes was seen hobbling off the pitch after the City Ground match, suggesting that the match had taken a toll on him. He is still anticipated to play on Sunday against Manchester City, though.

With his continued availability, Fernandes has become one of the most vital players at Old Trafford. Since joining the Red Devils in 2021, he has yet to miss a single game due to injury.
