Morgan Gibbs-White, a star player for Nottingham Forest, used a game between Liverpool and Chelsea to describe how he felt about Manchester United’s winning goal.
Erik ten Hag’s team went to the City Ground on Wednesday night to play Forest in the FA Cup. A win would send them to the quarterfinals.
It looked like extra time would be needed because the game was so close, but in the 89th minute, Brazilian star Casemiro headed in a free kick by Bruno Fernandes to send United to the next round.
Before the goal was confirmed, VAR spent a long time checking to see if Raphael Varane was offside because he seemed to be stopping a Forest defender while standing offside.
The goal was finally given, and United secured a much-needed 1-0 win.
Angry about the goal, Gibbs-White went on social media after the game to vent.
The Forest star shared a picture again that showed a comparison between United’s winning goal and Liverpool’s goal that was called off in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
The goal scored by Virgil van Dijk for Liverpool was called off because midfielder Wataru Endo, who wasn’t onside when the ball was played, stopped Levi Colwill for Chelsea.
The only difference in the United goal was that the ball came in at the near post, while Varane seemed to be standing more in the middle of the box. This could mean that the player he blocked would not have been able to get to the ball before Casemiro anyway.

United will play Liverpool in the quarterfinals next month.
