Soon after, Sterling’s close-range shot was ruled off because Jackson was offside. As the game went on, you could almost see Chelsea’s players getting bigger. The shot by Gakpo that hit the post could have put Liverpool ahead, but the Blues looked like they were more dangerous.

4. Conor Bradley has the fight to win.

If Liverpool’s fitness problems have led to one good thing, it’s Conor Bradley. The young Northern Irish player would have been seen earlier in the season but for an injury. But since he joined the team at the beginning of the year, it seems like he’s always been there.

Following Gravenberch’s injury, Bradley had to move further forward. He’ll never be as good there as Salah, but he was always willing to run and try to cause trouble for Ben Chilwell, as they literally did when they collided near the end of the half. Klopp will not be able to see Bradley grow, but he leaves a great player for whoever takes his place.
