Enzo Fernandez involved in heated confrontation with Liverpool Fan After the Carabao Final

A Chelsea player led Enzo Fernandez away after a Liverpool fan made fun of him at Wembley.

When Enzo Fernandez joined Chelsea a year ago, things were not going well for him.

They paid almost £107 million to Benfica for the Argentine in 2023, which was the most ever paid for a player in Britain. However, he has not lived up to the hype.

The Carabao Cup final on Sunday was a chance for Fernandez and Chelsea fans to add some shine to an otherwise disappointing season.

That’s it!

But Liverpool had other ideas. In the 118th minute, Virgil van Dijk scored a header that won the prize for Jurgen Klopp’s team, leaving Chelsea feeling bad about a chance they missed.

At the end of the game, Chelsea’s upset stars fell to their knees. The last thing they needed was to be made fun of as they went to get their awards for coming in second place.

Mauricio Pochettino and his player did just that, though, when they went up the steps to the famous Wembley platform.

There is video on social media of a Liverpool fan making fun of Fernandez before getting the player to respond.

A fan yelled, “Enzo, unlucky lad,” as Fernandez walked up the stairs behind Mykhailo Mudryk. The fan then began laughing.

Someone on Enzo’s team led him up the stairs and away from the possible flashpoint after he stopped and stared at the person who was bothering him for a second or two.

The fan thought the whole thing was funny and kept laughing out loud as the World Cup winner walked away.

It wasn’t the only time Chelsea was made fun of for losing to a young Liverpool team.

Some fans said that Manchester City made fun of their former star Cole Palmer with an offensive post on X.

It’s clear that Conor Bradley’s Instagram post after the game was a message to Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell.
