The latest Premier League club to get a point deduction punishment has just been named. Their season has been well and truly ruined! 😱 .

Everton faced a 10-point penalty earlier this season for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability criteria. Despite appealing the decision, a final judgment is expected shortly. On January 15, the club, along with Nottingham Forest, was charged with another violation of financial laws. According to The Independent, there is an anticipation among executives from rival Premier League teams that Forest will be the second club to incur point deductions this season. The fate of Nottingham Forest will be revealed early next month.

Nottingham Forest, having returned to the Premier League, engaged in significant spending, securing the services of 43 players. Notably, 30 of these signings were made in their inaugural season back in the Premier League, resulting in a 16th-place finish, just four points clear of the relegation zone. The potential additional point deductions for both Everton and Nottingham Forest introduce a new dimension to the Premier League’s relegation battle, impacting several clubs within England’s top flight.
