Manchester United is reportedly on the brink of securing a €35 million deal for Lecce’s left-back Patrick Dorgu.

Manchester United is reportedly closing in on a €35 million agreement to secure the services of Lecce’s talented left-back, Patrick Dorgu. The 20-year-old defender, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea, Tottenham, and Barcelona, is said to favor a move to Old Trafford.

Born on October 26, 2004, in Copenhagen to Nigerian parents, Dorgu began his football journey at FC Nordsjaelland, a Danish club renowned for nurturing young talent. His standout performances in Serie A with Lecce have put him on the radar of several elite clubs, including Liverpool. Initially valued at €20 million, Lecce remains firm on their €35 million valuation, reflecting the high regard in which they hold the young star.

Dorgu’s versatility is one of his most appealing qualities. While primarily deployed as a left wing-back, he is equally adept at playing as a left or right winger, often using his stronger foot to cut inside and create opportunities. His blend of pace, creativity, and athleticism makes him a dynamic asset capable of impacting both defensive and attacking phases of play.

Standing at 185 cm and weighing 68 kg, Dorgu possesses a lean yet physical frame that enables him to excel in tackles, aerial duels, and defensive blocks. Despite his position as a defender, he draws inspiration from Belgian forward Eden Hazard, adopting elements of his flair, vision, and attacking mindset to enhance his game.

Currently earning €12,500 per week at Lecce and contracted until June 2029, Dorgu presents a financially prudent long-term option for Manchester United. If the transfer is finalized, he could provide much-needed depth at left-back, especially considering Luke Shaw’s recurring injuries and Tyrell Malacia’s struggles with consistency. His arrival would align with the club’s strategy of investing in young, promising talent to strengthen the squad for the future.

With the transfer window deadline approaching, United fans are eager to see if the deal will be sealed, bringing fresh energy and tactical flexibility to the team.
